Los Angeles Frocktails returns for its annual gathering, bringing together makers, sewists, and fashion lovers for an afternoon of creativity, connection, and truly excellent outfits.

If you’ve been saving something special to wear… this is your sign.

What’s Happening

Spend the afternoon surrounded by people who completely understand why matching your zipper to your topstitching is a perfectly reasonable thing to care about.

Here's what you can look forward to:

  • A welcoming space to meet fellow sewists, admire handmade outfits, and make new friends.

  • A spacious Arts District venue with plenty of room to mingle... and yes, enough room for dancing if the mood strikes.

  • A fabric swap, so bring along fabric, trims, or sewing treasures ready for a new home.*

  • A DJ providing the soundtrack while conversations (and compliments) flow.

  • Photo opportunities to capture your outfit and the memories.

  • Fun, low-pressure icebreakers to help everyone feel at home.

Make a Weekend of It

Why limit the fun to just one day?

Our Frocktails venue is right in the heart of Downtown LA's Arts District, making it easy to turn the weekend into a mini sewing getaway. Explore the neighborhood, grab a coffee, discover local shops, or head over to nearby Little Tokyo for dinner, dessert, and plenty of sewing chat with new friends.

Optional Saturday Fabric Shopping Field Trip

Flying in early? Already local? Come join us for a casual day of fabric hunting before Frocktails!

We'll meet at Michael Levine's at 10:00 AM, then spend the day exploring some of our favorite local spots, including a discount fabric warehouse and a trim shop. Around lunchtime we'll stop for a relaxed meal at a nearby restaurant (location to be announced), before wrapping up the afternoon with a visit to Mood Fabrics at 3:00 PM.

There's no formal schedule beyond our meeting times, and no need to stick with the group all day. Drop in whenever you'd like, skip the shops that aren't your thing, or spend extra time wherever inspiration strikes.

Think of it as a relaxed day of fabric shopping, discovery, and spending time with fellow sewists before Sunday's celebration.

  • Our signature red carpet and mock runway, where you can show off your handmade outfit to a room full of enthusiastic cheers. Participation is completely optional, but highly encouraged!

  • Thoughtfully crafted cocktails, mocktails, and light bites to keep the conversation flowing.

  • Raffles, prizes, surprises, and plenty of "Wait... you made that?!" moments.

Come for the handmade fashion. Stay for the laughter, inspiration, and the kind of community that has you planning next year's outfit before you've even gone home.

*Please bring only clean, usable fabrics and sewing supplies you'd be happy to receive yourself.

Giving Back

One of our favorite Frocktails traditions continues...

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we'll once again be hosting a raffle filled with wonderful prizes, with raffle proceeds benefiting Days for Girls, a global nonprofit working to increase access to menstrual health education, products, and advocacy around the world.

It's a fun way to support a meaningful cause, and one more reason to head home with a smile... whether it's because you won a prize or helped make a difference.
